C T Baker Stalham Tel: 01692 580210 Normal Hours: 7.30am - 5.00pm Monday - Saturday Our latest development at the Staithe Stalham, is a brand new 1 1/2 acre site on the old Brickyard. This has enabled us to move out of the high street and expand our merchant facility enormously. Situated on the main trunk road from the Midlands to Great Yarmouth has greatly increased trade and DIY awareness in us. Our large stocks and prompt delivery service has gone down well in the area contributing to the immediate success of this new site. It cost over £800,000 to build our new builders’ merchant depot and relocate alongside the Stalham bypass. It’s now open and judging from the response of builders, contractors, landscape gardeners and local DIY enthusiasts, it’s going to be a huge success. We’ve been planning the capital investment and restructuring programme for some considerable time and Managing Director, Michael Baker is delighted with the project completion. “C.T. Baker has been trading out of Holt, Stalham and North Walsham for what families and trades people in Norfolk would see as generations… Yes, in 1924 we first opened in Stalham where tins of paint were sold out of the back of the store. It’s part of our history and shows how even the most established family companies must move with the times. It’s a long way away from the state of the art investment we have made in the new Stalham depot you see open today. This is a huge commitment from the Group and we already know that from the feedback we have received from the trade it will be a huge success.” What a difference a relocation makes! Builders and contractors in the region are now finding Bakers score handsomely on access, availability, product range and price. Depot manager Lee Butler has been inundated with enquiries, orders and delivery requests. “I can’t stress the importance of the new depot's ease of access, “ he said, “ and it’s proving to be a winning formula with builders, contractors, construction workers and landscape gardeners from as far afield as Great Yarmouth, Coltishall, Wroxham and Norwich. They all seem to be visiting and ordering and must be working in the area.” C.T. Baker’s buyers have stocked the new depot with both heavy and lightside materials to cater for the needs of builders, roofing contractors, plumbers and other trades people. |
